There are a number of ways you can get involved with Act One!

Stage Manager

One of the easiest ways to get involved is to become a Stage Manager aka fundraising advocate for us. What does this involve? Primarily, you will learn to speak on behalf of Act One at events with the end goal of soliciting monthly donors to join our monthly giving club, the Stage Crew. You will also learn to market our programs to their key demographics. Please note that to be considered for Stage Manager you must be a member of the Stage Crew monthly giving club.

Volunteer Opportunities

We do not have an ongoing volunteer program and unfortunately we are unable to offer any corporate volunteering opportunities at this time. However, we do have a few areas of expertise we always could use support. If you are a professional and would like to offer your consultancy services pro-bono, we are able to offer an in-kind services letter that you can use to deduct from your annual income taxes. Please reach out to our Executive Director, Dr. Beth Maloney, at bmaloney@act1az.org if you are interested in offering your professional expertise.

Educator Ambassadors

As Act One works directly with schools here in Arizona, it is important for us to stay connected with local educators. This is why we have the Act One Ambassadors Program. Currently representing nearly every corner of the state, these educators serve as ambassadors for Act One’s programs to their fellow educators, students, and community at-large. They also provide advice and insight into the current state of education in Arizona so we can continue to serve our communities the best we can. If you are an educator, we would like your expertise in serving the students of Arizona. Consider becoming an educator ambassador and joining the Act One Ambassador program. For more information and to apply, please visit our Ambassadors page and fill out the application. Please note that this program is open to Arizona educators that are currently working in the classroom or in a support capacity, in an adjacent field, or retired.

Southern Arizona Arts Committee (SAAC)

If you are a resident of Southern Arizona, consider joining our Southern Arizona Arts Committee (SAAC). We believe that locals are the best place to start when supporting an arts community, so we rely on residents of Tucson and other parts of Southern Arizona to guide us on how best to serve their uniquely diverse communities. If you are interested in joining SAAC, please our Executive Director, Dr. Beth Maloney, at bmaloney@act1az.org.

Board of Directors

Serving on our Board is one of the best ways that community leaders can support our organization. If you are interested in joining the Board, please reach out directly to our Executive Director, Dr. Beth Maloney, at bmaloney@act1az.org.

Internships

If you are a current student of an accredited university and are living in the Tucson or Phoenix area, we may be able to assist you in the creation of an internship. Please reach out directly to our Executive Director, Dr. Beth Maloney, at bmaloney@act1az.org if you are interested in creating an internship with us.

If you are unable to get involved in the above ways but still would like to support our mission, please consider joining our monthly giving club. Just like public radio, sustaining support is the best kind of support for all nonprofits, and even $5 a month makes a difference. Text “stagecrew” to 44321 or click here to learn more.
