In-Person Field Trip

“The Tempest” by William Shakespeare tells the story of Prospero, a powerful magician and former Duke of Milan, who is stranded on a remote island with his daughter Miranda after being betrayed by his brother Antonio and forced into exile; using his magical powers, Prospero creates a violent storm that shipwrecks the very people who wronged him, allowing him to orchestrate a complex web of revenge, love, and ultimately, forgiveness, all while navigating his relationship with the island’s inhabitants, including the spirit Ariel and the savage creature Caliban. A discussion with the actors and musicians will follow the performance.
