Providing Access to the Arts for All
Act One’s programs provide arts experiences to those who otherwise wouldn’t be able to access the arts through field trips for students from Title 1 schools and the Act One Culture Pass.
“That child [on an Act One field trip] sitting in the audience, experiencing something for the first time. Imagine what’s happening. They see a color, they see a movement, they hear a note. They hear a story that is new to them. That opens them up. That pushes at their imagination. That flexes that muscle of openness. It’s a muscle that they can nurture their whole lives.”
Field Trips for Students from Title 1 Schools
Act One annually provides field trips to the arts in Metro Phoenix and Tucson for students from Title 1 schools. In 2018-19, Act One has capacity to bring more than 46,000 students and chaperones on field trips to the theater, music performances and museums. Act One purchases the tickets, pays for the buses and provides classroom materials to help teachers prepare students for their field trips. Schools are responsible for just $1 per participant.Learn More
