In-Person Field Trip

Students can go behind the scenes when they attend the final dress rehearsal for Ballet Tucson’s Fall concert, which offers three invigorating masterworks. Students will witness the return of legendary choreographer George Balanchine’s most iconic ballet Serenade and the Ballet Tucson premiere of his exquisite Divertimento No. 15. Students will then dive into the entire work of Andrea Schermoly’s contemporary ballet Klein Perspectives. This will allow students to develop their ideas and theories on the perspectives of each choreographer and how even the most iconic ballet can seem brand new when you look at it from a new perspective.

Students will also have the chance to speak with Ballet Tucson staff and some dancers about their experience in a Q&A following the performance.
