Presented by Symphony of the Southwest
Peter and the Wolf was composed by Sergei Prokofiev in 1936 and originally performed for a children’s theater in Moscow. Proko-fiev used four different instrument families (strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion) to represent the characters in the story. There will be live narration of the story and a demonstration of the individual instruments on stage prior to the performance.
